4 out of 5 stars Just as good as '09   June 15, 2010

The bright side to this game is that the graphics are better than '09. The ballparks are more detailed along with the diamond and grass. The game is also a little bit easier to play than last year when it comes to hitting the ball. Some things that this game doesn't have is the roster updates. It's not a downer though, it is still a fun game. The road to the show game is the same. The catcher mode, where you call the game in road to the show, is not on the psp version of this game which was a little bit of a disappointment because it would have been a big turn for this game. The announcers have the same lines as last year but overall it is still a very fun game to play. One more upside is that the pitching is better. Sometimes the line your supposed to match with the release point line wasn't that visible, but this year's version the line is darker so it is a lot easier to pitch. I would recommend buying a used version of this for $25-$30 in very good or like new condition so you don't feel like you overpaid for this game.

4 out of 5 stars Great game overall   April 13, 2010

Let me ask all the 1 Star reviewers, compared to MLB 2K10 would you still rate this game 1 Star. I would assume not because 2k10 for PSP is the biggest piece of trash to enter the baseball gaming market. The Show is just a really fun game to play with really great controls and movements. I enjoy it, I really do not care too much about the roster updates because I understand the business aspect of it. If they gave you a new roster every year would anyone buy new games, I think not. It is a little pricey and that's why it did not get the 5 stars but the game is really solid and I really enjoy playing it. I had MLB 2K10 first and I almost threw it out the window it annoyed me so much. Its worth a purchase if you enjoy a nice season of baseball on the plane or on the go. If you want to play online and do all these things then you should probably invest into a PC/PS3. PSP is called portable for a reason so you have something to do on the go.

1 out of 5 stars A giant step backwards   March 29, 2010

When I loaded the game for the first time, the first thing I did was look for the on-line link to update rosters. Well, it's gone. That's right, no on-line option = no ability to update rosters. This is a huge take away from the 2009 version. Given the identical gameplay, save your money and stick with 2009.

This is great portable baseball. To think a game this good could be held in the palm of your hand is amazing. To give it bad reviews because there is no online multiplayer is insane. This is a single player game. It has tons of single player replayability. You can spend the next year playing season, career, RTTS, etc without even coming close to getting tired of this game. If you want to play baseball with other humans try going outside and grabbing a bat and ball. You don't need a PSP to play baseball with humans. This game excels in single player.

1 out of 5 stars I guess that I am a sucker...again   March 9, 2010

Updated roster, and that's it. A high price to pay if you already have the 2009 version. If you don't, it's a fun game. But I've owned the last 3 years of this game, hoping that they would make some changes to the graphics, or even the announcers "lines". Each year, they don't. They change rosters, make a minor change or two, and release it for $40.

And then as someone else mentioned, they've taken away the online capabilities. I didn't use that a ton, but to take it away just takes a step backwards.

I'll play it for this season, but they won't get me again in '11. I'll wait and see reviews and/or buy a different baseball game.
