Should Have Been Part of the PSP May 12, 2007 M. Scott Olson (Eau Claire, WI) Before I purchased the Face Armor, I was debating between it and Logitech's PlayGear Pocket. I finally settled on the Face Armor because I wanted something that would protect my PSP's screen without adding too much bulk (the PSP is large enough as it is and adding more bulk would almost make it un-pocketable). The PlayGear Pocket simply added too much bulk. I was a little wary of the Face Armor because of the reviewers who noted that the Face Armor blocked the PSP's USB port. In the end, I decided that, for me, the benefit of the slim design outweighed that possible negative. Upon receiving my Face Armor, I was plased to see that there must have been a redesign of the unit as the USB port was NOT blocked whatsoever. The unit installs with two simple thumb screws and is easy to remove if you so need. The included disk jackets were not something I particularly cared about when purchasing the Face Armor, but they have come in handy when travelling and not wanting to fill my portable game bag with UMD/PSP cases. All in all, I highly recommend the Face Armor. This is something that the PSP should have just had built-in from the start to protect that gorgeous screen.
Not bad...Awesome customer support February 12, 2007 Jonathan (Harlem, GA United States) After reading all the reviews I'm wondering if we are talking about the same product. I had mine for about 18 months and took it with me on a deployment to Katrina in NO(that was interesting) Anyway the cover held up good. Slammed it shut and had it in my BDU cargo packet a lot of the time. The hinge did break after a while but I emailed Pelican...they sent one back with several UMD holders no questions asked and paid the postage as well. I really like it because I can access everything while it protects the screen and front. Guess the logitech case is good but I like to switch memory sticks frequently etc so I will still use the pelican. Wish they made the thing in indestructible stainless steel...now that would be awesome.
DO NOT BUY!!! January 15, 2007 J. Tillotson If you want a product that will last more then a month, do not buy this. The hinges on this is horrible, and will not last. Mine broke in less then a week... and I did not drop it or anything.
Cheap & fragile September 6, 2006 J. Bail The mounting hardware is cheap & mostly made out of thin plastic. Mine only lasted a few months before snapping off. I keep my PSP in a PSP bag and I have never dropped it there was no reason this thing should break so easily. All the Pelican products I have bought have been totally worthless. If you're looking for a PSP go for the Shark one with the integrated extra battery.
Terrible. Don't waste your money. July 18, 2006 D. Choi (Dayton, OH) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I LITERALLY had this thing for 5 minutes before the cheap plastic hinge broke. Okay okay. Just a little piece broken. I super glued it back together and tried attaching the thing back on (using the two screws) and what do you know? One of the screws was stripped. Terrible.
