PSP dock station not so good for listening May 9, 2010 Jose Rojas (East Fishkill, NY, US) I like the bright blue light, it's a good dock charging station but it builds lots of statitcs with audio connectors and headphone peace for skype didn't work at all I had to use my PSP directly , all features video and audio are much better directly from PSP without the docking station, I guess that's what it gets for less than 10 bucks
i like this very much, psp 2000 charging dock&tv link February 21, 2010 Ivette Ramos (manhattan) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

Ok for Charging, but Bad on Audio Quality January 15, 2010 C. Mai (Seattle, WA USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I got this dock because I thought it would be nice to put my PSP safely in a cradle while it's charging, and also use it to play video and music into a receiver. Well, it does its job of cradling my PSP while charging, but the audio is plagued with noise and interference from the power source. Note that there is no audio problems when I plug my PSP directly into its power source. The problem only occurs when I go through the dock. I haven't tried the Video yet because I am waiting for the component video cables that I ordered to arrive. I will update this review with comment about the video after I have a chance to try it out.
I returned the first unit as defective, and thanks to Amazon's excellent service, got a new one a couple of days later. Well, the new one has the same problem. It seems the the audio quality is affected by the power source because of bad design and or defective manufacturing of the unit's PCB. I took it apart and with a little de-soldering and re-soldering, was able to bypass the PCB and wired the power source directly to the PSP. This eliminated the audio noise/interference and the cool, but way to bright blue LED. Oh well, I didn't really miss the superfluous blue light anyway; and ended up with something that works as it should.
So, if you are not willing to do some hacking to the unit, and are buying it for the audio output while docking, then be forewarned. I gave it a low rating because the unit just didn't function like it should without me voiding the warranty and spending extra effort getting it to function like it was intended. Otherwise, it would have gotten at least 4 stars for form, function and value.
If you just want a cradle to charge your PSP in, then it works; but because of the audio interference problem, I don't know about the long term effect it may have on your PSP. The only reason that I am using it because I know that the power source is going directly to my PSP and is not contaminated by the PCB's bad design/manufacturing. Because if it's making the audio bad, then who knows what else it is doing to the rest of the PSP's internals.
Eh, 1 click gets the better of my sometimes December 22, 2009 J. Woo (NYC) So this charger was an impulse buy
Honestly, Its not very useful
If you have a case, you have to take your psp out of it.
However, I have been just playing it in bed lately, so its been cool for me.
Also, its a bit tricky to get the psp in and out (if your not careful the power prong and the audio prongs can get bent--so not for an impatient kid.
Only real pro of this dock is that it lights up...
otherwise, stick to your cable
That's Bright August 25, 2009 Samuel Trassare (Evans, GA United States) I strongly agree with past reviewers that this cradle is bright! It has a bunch of blue LED's inside its combination black and transparent plastic shell. It really can light up a room at night and it is always on when a power supply is connected to the cradle.
I worked around this annoyance by opening the cradle and cutting each of the LED's. It is a simple job to do but it's a job that shouldn't have to be done. This is a great cradle but the LED's are unnecessary.
A past reviewer disliked the lack of an RCA-out feature but I prefer the Sony proprietary connector as it allows me to connect to either composite or component inputs on a TV with a simple swap of the Sony A/V cable.
The only thing this cradle is really lacking is a remote control for the PSP. With a feature like that, and exclusion of the blue LED's, this would be the perfect cradle.
