3 out of 5 stars rent it first   July 6, 2010

It's an ok movie but I wished it followed the game's search for clues/hunt for objects in the spooky building along with shoot and kick zombie butt.

4 out of 5 stars Strictly for fans of the game series.   May 22, 2010

Sporting graphics that are occasionally wonderful, the voice actors from the games, and sly winks to fans of the game-saga, Resident Evil: Degeneration exists only for those who have grown up playing the games.

The story does a great job of providing a seamless transition from Resident Evil 4 to 5 while throwing in many character cameos and references that will excite any fan, however, it does not have enough depth to fully entertain someone unfamiliar with the games.

5 out of 5 stars This is real Resident Evil   April 5, 2010

Well, I didn't know what to expect from this movie. Would it be just ok or could it really immerse the watcher on the Resident Evil universe?! Hopefully, the second option fits here, brilliantly!!! You feel like you're watching a non interactive game from the franchise!!! In addition, it's grateful to see Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, main actors on my favorite Resident Evil game (the second) ever!!! There's no regret in purchasing this one, more noticeable if you're a fan.

4 out of 5 stars The Hills are alive with the groans of Zombies!   March 15, 2010

I am a big fan of George A. Romero's zombie films. I'm also a fan of the Resident Evil live action movies. I'm not really a big fan of the Resident Evil videogames. That's not to say that they are bad. I've just not played most of them. I've really only played the first one many years ago. I really should play the rest someday. But besides all that, I finally decided to see Resident Evil : Degeneration and I have to say, I liked it. I thought it was a pretty good movie overall.

I still think that the live action movies are better, but, this one kept me interested throughout and that's all that you can really ask for. The characters were cool, the zombies were great, although I wished they had more zombie action in it then they did. And the obligatory monster, the G-Virus Curtis Mutant was fairly creepy and menacing as well.

The only downside that I can give it is that some of the CGI characters looked a little too rubbery and weird now and then. That's why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. The rest of the CGI for the buildings and vehicles and explosions etcetera were pretty amazing though.

I've seen a few CGI movies over the years and enjoyed them all. Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, Beowulf, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and RE: Degeneration is another fine entry in the category. I am looking forward to a sequel should they ever decide to do one.

3 out of 5 stars Not somewhere to start, but somewhere to go.   February 8, 2010

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1QQHVGTC4QNIM While the movie itself follows the mythology of the Resident Evil storyline, I didn't feel as though it did a lot to contribute to the overall story that the franchise has followed. It's 'average' in regards to a movie, but what makes it fun to watch is the preestablished characters that the film follows. It has great CGI (though nothing amazing) and the film's finale is inventive, just like the Resident Evil games before it have been.

I'd recommend it, but only to preexisting fans of Resident Evil. This isn't somewhere to start if you haven't played the Resident Evil games before.
