Product Description From director John Roecker (Disease is Punishment) comes the outrageous stop-motion animation musical comedy Live Freaky! Die Freaky! Voiced by a legion of alternative rock icons including Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) and Tim Armstrong (Rancid/Operation Ivy) the film is about a futuristic nomad who accidentally discovers a copy of Helter Skelter and interprets it as a biblical tome with Charles Manson as the Messiah. Flashing back to 1969 Hadie (Theo Kogan) meets Charlie (Billie Joe Armstrong) after a bad LSD trip and is immediately drawn into his family where they hatch plans to change the world through "music murder and mayhem." Gleefully pushing the boundaries of good taste Live Freaky! Die Freaky! also features: actress Asia Argento Lunachick's Theo Kogan AFI's Davey Havoc X's John Doe The Go-Go's Jane Wiedlin Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte and other members of Green Day Rancid and Blink 182. The soundtrack includes original songs performed by Billie Joe Armstrong and Jane Wiedlin. Tim Armstrong arranged the score and the songs were written by Roddy Bottum (Faith No More/Imperial Teen). Was Expecting Better. July 10, 2008 Maria Castellon (Porterville, Ca) This Movie Was Alright. A Couple of Funny Parts And The Songs In It Are Catchy, But Don't Buy This Movie. Unless You See It At A Yard Sale For Like 5 or 10 Bucks, If Its Above 10 Don't Buy It. I Was Expecting More Cuz All of The Awesome Bands Members In It. Mainly Rancid!!!
They should have hired writers and animators June 21, 2008 Bryan Durco (lansing mi) I want 2 hours of my life back..(well an hour because I couldn't watch the rest of this terrible human mistake). It is written, without any focus. Half the time it wants to be a comedy, and the rest of the time it wants to be social commentary. One can only assume the topic of the Manson family was a weak attempt to be cool. The subject matter is created with less edge or controversy than a mini van commercial. The most unbearable part were retarded amount of sex jokes that come out of no where. "Hey how's it goin Billy?"... "That huge sperm shooting cock in my mouth is great" said Billy. I hate myself for having watched as much of this hackneyed trash as I did. I would rather be burned with cigarettes than watch this again. At least burning myself would make me feel like I was being productive with my time.
Depraved, Shameless, Funny January 17, 2008 Usually Quiet I swear, I thought I could never be shocked by a comedy! I consider myself jaded when it comes to gross out humor, but Live Freaky Die Freaky really tops the charts. I can appreciate the audacity of a Manson musical, and I can appreciate a humorous take on tragedy, but this movie often goes to far. It's not just the graphic language, or "un-simulated puppet sex", or the fact that a friend of Roman Polanski voices Sharon Tate's killer. It's that all these things appear in the same movie!
For that, for offending even me, this film automatically gets 4 stars! If the production values were any better this movie would get 5, but that's how it is. Either way, I must say I really liked Billy Joe's version of Mechanical Man...
the most dissapointing movie I have seen August 10, 2007 Redwolfsniper (Cumming, GA) to start off, I love the musicians involved with this movie. they are all really creative and I love the material. Sadly enough none of them can act, and who ever wrote this wrote a better 60 synopsis for the trailer, than the whole movie.
then there are the the messed up sex scenes with clay. i have never beeen skiddish about that sort of stuff, but sitting there watchiong a piece of cley shoved into a clay vagina for 5 minutes made me feel dirty or something.
not what I thoughtt, great idea though
live freaky die freaky makes me go a big rubbery one July 29, 2007 Cameron Terry (Yucaipa, CA usa) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this movie is the best claymation movie i've ever seen if you like the show robot chicken you'll love this
