Amazon.com Ever spend eight hours in a "Productivity Bin"? Ever had worries about layoffs? Ever had the urge to demolish a temperamental printer or fax machine? Ever had to endure a smarmy, condescending boss? Then Office Space should hit pretty close to home for you. Peter (Ron Livingston) spends the day doing stupefyingly dull computer work in a cubicle. He goes home to an apartment sparsely furnished by IKEA and Target, then starts for a maddening commute to work again in the morning. His coworkers in the cube farm are an annoying lot, his boss is a snide, patronizing jerk, and his days are consumed with tedium. In desperation, he turns to career hypnotherapy, but when his hypno-induced relaxation takes hold, there's no shutting it off. Layoffs are in the air at his corporation, and with two coworkers (both of whom are slated for the chute) he devises a scheme to skim funds from company accounts. The scheme soon snowballs, however, throwing the three into a panic until the unexpected happens and saves the day. Director Mike Judge has come up with a spot-on look at work in corporate America circa 1999. With well-drawn characters and situations instantly familiar to the white-collar milieu, he captures the joylessness of many a cube denizen's work life to a T. Jennifer Aniston plays Peter's love interest, a waitress at Chotchkie's, a generic beer-and-burger joint à la Chili's, and Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show) has a minor but hilarious turn as Peter's mustached, long-haired, drywall-installin' neighbor. --Jerry Renshaw
Description Unable to endure another mind-numbing day at Initech Corporation, cubicle slave Peter Gibbons (Ron Livingston) gets fired up and decides to get fired. Armed with a leisurely new attitude and a sexy new girlfriend (Jennifer Aniston), he soon masters the art of neglecting his work, which quickly propels him into the ranks of upper management! Now the stage is set for Peter to carry out a high-tech embezzling scheme that's sure to mean the end of his job and a one-way ticket to easy street. Can he pull it off before all corporate hell breaks loose?

Very Funny and great story & characters! January 2, 2009 Teresa Grubman (San Antonio TX) This movie made me laugh out loud and that's saying a lot for me--not impressed by most comedies. It was so true to life as far as the trash that people have to go through in their cubes as a white-collar office worker. The smashing of the printer was especially a delight! I highly recommend this movie to those in...and out of the cubes!
Office Space Special Edition December 29, 2008 M. Brakefield (san francisco bay area) A very funny movie. I'm very glad I purchased it & would highly recommend it.
3 stars out of 4 December 18, 2008 One-Line Film Reviews (Ann Arbor) The Bottom Line: Perhaps not the call-to-arms that office drones think it is, Office Space is a funny and warm comedy about the drudgery of modern life that captures the stiflingness of white collar toil better than Fight Club ever could.
Not just for office workers! December 15, 2008 Nicole Leishman (IL USA) Maybe it's because I hate my job, but I think this is the most hysterical movie I have ever seen. I watch it when I've had a "bad day at the office" and it cheers me up every time! Maybe because most companies are alike no matter what their business, I would really recommend this to anyone who can relate at all to work related stress, not just to people who work in cubicles in an office. After all, the rest of the workforce have jerks for bosses, companies that can't get their policies and procedures down, don't know how to communicate and think the morale in their staff is great when it's really in the toilet! Additionally, I would recommend this to anyone who just likes a good comedy. I use clips from this movie in training courses I provide at work, about what NOT to do to your employees and I recommend this movie to all my friends and co-workers as therapy for when they are taking an I'm "sick" of my job day off. I also love that now that it's older the price is right and you can give it as a gift to work related friends. If you haven't seen it, skip renting and just buy it, you will not be dissappointed.
Office Space DVD December 6, 2008 LeftyWriter We received the DVD in relatively quick amount of time and it was in good shape and we were able to view it as advertised.
