Good movie, but I learned the hard way that it may not play in Panasonic Blu-ray machines unless an SD card in isnerted. The horizontal thermometer fills in, showing that the movie is ready to go, and then everything stops. Tried it again and again. Returned the disk and got a new one. Same problem. So I checked online discussions and found that the fix is to insert an SD card. I did, and viola!, there was the movie in beautiful HD. I can find no explanation for why this is so. I have no other Blu-ray diskd that have this problem.

Looks great and it fills your widescreen TV unlike other movies that show the black bars on bottom and top of the screen when they transfer them to Blu ray.
Great Sci Fi Movie! June 8, 2010

One of my best sci fi movies i've seen to date. Made 13 years ago still had some of the best CGI compared to a lot of movies now i.e Starship troopers 3. Why are people rating this one star, aw cause it wasn't made like the damn BOOK, so what, not all movies have to be made like from a damn novel, get ovr it!. Poor acting..etc?? you people are nuts, you clearly haven't seen starship troopers 3 then >.> ST2 and ST3 are basicly low budget flings from the first movie with cheesy acting, they never should have made them. Myself thought the acting/dialog ..etc was excellent, lots of action, gore, nudity, tone, music and the storyline keeped me wanting more, i can't beleive titanic beat this awsome sci fi movie, ST1 should have got the award!

Big Bugs. Really Big Bugs from outer Space. Seems like they are in need of a good Killin'. If you love your action movies wrapped in a little Science Fiction, you'll want this DVD in your collection. Good stuff, but I would consider staying away from Troopers 2 and 3.
