Awesome February 3, 2010 Kirsys Asenjo (Burlington, MA) This game is great my 6 year old loves it. But came to find out that it's a bit too hard for him. Now he's back to his DS. I will save this one though for until he's a bit older and manages how to handle it.
Excellent buy January 29, 2010 Daniel Guevara Bertsch (San Jose, Costa Rica) its a very cool experience , lets you do lots of things , i love that you can have music , movies , games , wi-fi , skype , etc .... i would recommend when you buy this item that you buy also a skin or a lcd screen protector to preserve the psp.
overall i love it.
A favorite with the 1st grader. January 16, 2010 2 boys' mama (Texas) Our 1st grader got this for Christmas and loved it. He also got National Treasure 2, which is a cool thing for a handheld game system. The graphics are awesome and features for playing music and displaying photos are a plus. Be sure and get a cover/case for your system -- they can scratch easily.
Great Portable System December 31, 2009 frenchiefellow I purchased this last Christmas, as I wanted to explore the remote features with the PS3, plus I wanted to get in on some portable gaming.
The first PSP 3000 I bought was faulty; after about an hour or two of use the day I bought it, a whole row of pixels turned pink, and remained that way while the system was powered on. In addition, it would not allow me to set up the wireless internet settings, and by some coincidence all my router settings were lost after I tried to set up the PSP. I returned it the same day, and reluctantly bought a new one at a different store.
Thankfully, no problems have come forward for the newer PSP, but unfortunately, I have not invested the time I had anticipated when I bought it. I use it from time to time, but not often as I've invested a lot of time and money in my PS3.
The PSP on its own is a great media player, although some internal memory for this particular model would be nice. UMD movies look and sound good, better than I had thought actually, and the movie this bundle comes with isn't bad at all. The games play, sound, and look good, although a second analog stick would do wonders for all the games (Shooters are kind of a pain as either the face buttons (X O etc) or the D-pad are used as the right analog stick is used on the PS3). The internet is reasonably fast, but I would love to see a clip on keyboard for internet use (although I doubt that will ever happen). The portable PSN store is great too, giving a lot to download. Overall, it is really fun for trips, I'd recommend to teens as most of the PSP games are based of that age group.
The only problems are that I would have preferred an actual on and off switch as sometimes I thought I turned the PSP off and come to learn its been in sleep mode and the battery is nearly dead. Also, the battery life doesn't seem to be great, and I'll have the PSP off (not on sleep) for a couple days or so with full battery, then turn it on again a couple days later and find one bar of the battery left.
The PSP is a great portable system for a lot of things, but if you are going to buy it, make sure that you are actually going to use it. Don't be like me, a year later and I've only got 3 games; 2 of which I haven't completed, and probably less than 50 hours of use. (Part of the reason that I don't use it that often is that I also have an Ipod Touch, so I usually use that.)
