 Why I purhcased a PSP 1000 July 28, 2010

You might be wondering why someone would be dumb enough to buy a device that was new several years ago. Well I chose to buy the PSP 1000 because out of all the different models the 1000 is the easiest to mod. I now have a NON SONY firmware installed on the device and I can now do all kinds of wild and crazy things with my PSP that Sony never planned on and some that they definitely do not approve of. One of the cool things that I have turned it into (because it has an IR port) is a universal remote for my various electronic devices. If you are curious as to other things that can be done with a modded PSP just do a Google search for Modding a PSP or check out YouTube for the same topic, you will be amazed.

Greatness gone mobile. Need I say more (rhetorical question)? For the purposes of "extra characters," I'll further elaborate that this is the complete entertainment package on the go. Some features of the PSP are just mindboggling, such as the ability for the system to "sleep" and when it "wakes up," you're at the exact point where you left off (and this isn't your traditional stand by or sleep mode either. It's literally off, meaning it uses no power whatsoever. Of course, you'll have to use the power switch to activate this extremely useful feature). It doesn't matter if your watching, playing, listening or doing it all at the same time, the PSP almost does everything (since the PS3 only does everything).

For a used psp it came in better shape than I thought. Only gripe I have is that it didn't come with a memory stick but it's still a pretty good deal

This is my 2nd PSP 1000 model after my first one was stolen and I love having this one. I have seen new features that have been added. Such as the Playstation Store, which allows you to buy PSP games directly from the system itself as long as you have a wifi connection. They recently added a comic book reader to it, which allows you to read comic books straight from the PSP.
My overall rating for this product is far above what they have allowed me.
If you are looking for something for your children for this holiday season, pick one up.
